Gene Iager Agricultural Scholarship

A five thousand ($5,000) scholarship will be offered to Maryland youth who have/had a dairy project (any breed) and are enrolled in a four-year college of agriculture program. This scholarship is being made available by Eugene (Gene ) Iager, a Howard County dairy and grain farmer and businessman  Mr. Iager exhibits mostly registered Holstein cattle, along with a few other breeds, and has shown many quality animals.

Qualifications:
1. Available to all Maryland dairy youth who are currently enrolled or have been enrolled in a dairy project (any breed).
2. Students must be pursuing a four-year degree in any agricultural program in the college of their choice.
3. Available to second semester freshmen through entering seniors.

Stipulations:
1.   One $5,000 scholarship will be awarded annually and may be won one time
2.   The winner will be notified by the Scholarship Committee.
3.   Scholarships will be awarded at the 4-H Dairy Show at the Maryland State Fair.

Maryland Holstein Association Scholarship

The MD Holstein Association provides up to 4 scholarships to college students based on their Holstein Activities, academic achievement, 4-H and college activities, and future plans.  You do not have to be majoring in a dairy related field to compete for one of the $750 scholarships. 

To be considered for a scholarship applicants must be:
  1. Students must be attending a two-year or four-year degree-granting institution in a College of Agriculture (i.e., University of Maryland, College Park; University of Maryland Institute of Applied Agriculture, or any out-of-state university offering an agriculture degree.) or a four year college in a non-agriculture area of study.
  2. Available to both undergraduate and graduate students.
  3. One to four scholarships offered to Maryland 4-H/FFA youth who are currently enrolled or have been enrolled in a dairy project with Holstein cattle.
  4. Applicants are eligible to win a scholarship twice.

Maryland Dairy Industry Association Scholarship

To apply for the 2019 MDIA scholarship, please fill out this form.

Scholarship qualifications:

Must have MDIA membership for the current year or be a dependent of a member. Contact Laurie Savage for a membership form.
Available to graduating high school seniors, undergraduate students enrolled in a 2- or 4-year college and graduate/professional school students.

The MDIA Scholarship must be postmarked no later than January 10.
